Knot Tying 2

Instructions

Practice knot tying daily for four weeks to master this essential skill. This series builds upon Knot Tying 1.

Supplies:

  • Medium-length cord - at least 6'
  • Longer cord - perhaps 16' or more
  • Short cord (optional)
  • String or very thin cord Complicated knots are often partly made up of simple knots.

Have a look at Figure 1, 2 and 3. You will see these patterns in more complicated knots. It is common to hear people referencing the names of these patterns when explaining how to do a new knot so it is worth remembering them. I've also included the "Gang of Five" knots we learned in Knot Tying 1 program if you want to keep practicing those so that you never forget those essential knots.
